Author: mosulfilm
Produced by Two Rivers Pictures, the 2019 documentary film Mosul follows Iraqi journalist Ali Maula as he moves among disparate and contentious multi-faith and multi-ethnic groups that make up the Iraqi forces, examining their attempts to put differences aside in order to fight a common enemy: the Islamic State - better known as "ISIS". The movie captures the events that took place between autumn 2016 and summer 2017, when these factions united to form an army of more than 100,000 soldiers, in an attempt to liberate the city of Mosul and its 1.3 million citizens from ISIS occupation.
